Challenge
GK Software SE (Germany) is a listed technology company headquartered in Schöneck/Vogtland. The specialization of the company lies in the field of software solutions and services for the operation of large retail company branches.
The department of Innovations approached us to develop a Prove-Of-Concept App for Apple Watch that coordinates the work of shop assistants in big retail clothing shops. They wanted to test the concept of using the wearables in serving requests of consumers, such as to bring another type (size, color, etc.) of a particular model of clothing.
The client had a basic idea of the UI design. And the challenge was around timing; the deadline was in 4 weeks!
Solution
We started with two days working on the design adjustments and defining requirements. From our side, we provided one iOS/Swift developer who worked directly with the client representative. Also, we involved one of our solution architects to make revisions of the solution.
During four weeks, we developed three versions of the app tailored to Apple Watch Series 2, 3, and 4 with push notification. As a backend for the POC, we used the backendless.com service.
The POC app was used by the client in several events that helped them to assess feedback from the market.
